Ariane Jessulat

Ariane Jeßulat studied at the Berlin University of the Arts from 1987 to 1995 and has been a Maulwerker since 1989. Her solo performances as a singer and pianist include Dieter Schnebel’s “Bagatellen”, “Auguri und Liebe-Leid”; Erhard Grosskopf’s “Drei Stücke für Klavier – quasi una sonata”; the world premiere of Michael Hirsch’s “Improvisation for celesta” and the resulting “Bastard” for piano. Other chamber music performances in the piano trio include works by Bohuslav Martinů, Ned Rorem and Gerhard Stäbler. Jeßulat composes for piano and voice as well as for the Maulwerker. She has been a professor for music theory at the UdK Berlin since 2015.
