Tamara Fischer was born and raised in Geneva, Switzerland. She discovered performing arts as a child, joining the Théâtre du Loup company and playing in its productions. She graduated from university with a Master’s degree in Biology in 2012, and worked several years as a science teacher. In 2017 she co-founded Les Bernardes company with three other female artists from French-speaking Switzerland. Their show “Médée Superstar”, a new take on the myth of Medea exploring the representation of female violence and revenge, won one of the eight Premio talent national awards in 2023. She obtained her CAS diploma in Dramaturgy and Text Performance in 2022, and currently works at Scènes du Grütli in Geneva as a dramaturg. Artistically, Tamara Fischer is interested in telling stories from marginal perspectives, delving into social and political themes, such as questioning gender stereotypes. She is keenly aware of the ecological and social urgency we are facing as a society, and is looking for collective ways to make theatre in a more sustainable way.
