Nele Stuhler

Performance artist, author, director

Nele Stuhler, born in Eppendorf (Saxony), grew up in Berlin. After studying Applied Theatre Studies in Gießen and the “Forum Text” course at uniT Graz, she wrote and directed, often collectively, with FUX, StuhlerKoslowski and DIE CHOR, among others. She has worked at theatres such as Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz, Münchner Kammerspiele, Schauspiel Frankfurt, Schauspiel Köln, Schauspielhaus Wien, Schauspielhaus Graz, Sophiensæle and HAU Hebbel am Ufer. She received the Else-Lasker-Schüler-Prize for her play “Fische” and her “Gaia Trilogie” premiered at the Autor*innentheatertage at Deutsches Theater Berlin. She also wrote “Keine Ahnung” in the form of a theatre play, radio play and book. Most recently, her play “Und oder oder oder oder oder oder oder und und und oder oder oder und oder oder und oder und und” premiered at the Residenztheater/Bayerisches Staatsschauspiel in Munich. This production was shortlisted for the Theatertreffen 2025.
