Solistenensemble Kaleidoskop

Founded in Berlin in 2006, the soloist ensemble Kaleidoskop has been committed to the development of innovative forms of experimental music theatre. Over time, the ensemble’s members have evolved from being solely instrumentalists into musical performers and co-creators of collaborative productions. Kaleidoskop views music theatre as a space for encounter and community, one with the potential to envision alternative futures.

With its explicitly interdisciplinary and collaborative approach, the ensemble consistently collaborates with artists from diverse genres and cultural backgrounds. In recent years, the exploration of the body has become a central focus of their work. This has led to partnerships with artists such as Laurent Chétouane, Susanne Kennedy, Isabel Lewis, Pol Pi, Ariel Efraim Ashbel, Black Cracker, Anika, Maya Dunietz, Ethan Braun, Wojtek Blecharz, Adam Linder, Annika Kahrs, the Dance On Ensemble and EnsembleWhatWhyArt (Seoul). With its productions, the ensemble has performed at festivals like the Ruhrtriennale, Foreign Affairs, Wiener Festwochen, Holland Festival, Romaeuropa, Tongyeong International Music Festival and Herrenhausen Art Festival, as well as at venues including deSingel in Antwerp, Kaaitheater in Brussels, Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg, Sophiensaele, Kampnagel in Hamburg and Hellerau – European Centre for the Arts in Dresden. In Berlin, the ensemble has regularly collaborated with Radialsystem since 2008.
