Clara Levy © Mara Winter
Clara Levy is a French violinist and improviser, whose career is mainly focused on New Music. For the past few years, she has been developing solo projects, questioning in turn the conditions of listening and the dramaturgy of the concert (“Outre Nuit”) or the sometimes blurred edges between interpretation and composition (“13 Visions”). Besides her projects, she is regularly collaborating with European ensembles such as ONCEIM (Paris), Ictus (Brussels), Hanatsu Miroir (Strasbourg), Contemporary Insights (Leipzig) as well as with composers like Erika Vega, Eva-Maria Houben, Clara de Asis, Jürg Frey, Karl Naegelen, Kaija Saariaho, Szymon Brzóska, Klaus Lang, among others. Passionate about contemporary dance and performance, she performs on stage with Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui (“Sutra”) and works with choreographers such as Vera Tussing and Jan Rohwedder. Her solo work or collaborations brought her to perform in many venues and festivals across Europe, e.g.: Wien Modern, Donaueschinger Musiktage, Rainy Days Festival (Luxembourg), Biennale Di Venezia, Archipel (Geneva), Bayreuther Festspiele, OzAsia Festival (Adelaide), Météo (Mulhouse), Oscillation, Le Senghor, Kaaistudio, Théâtre de la Monnaie (all Brussels), Café OTO (London), Lille Opera, Xornadas de Música Contemporánea (Santiago de Compostela), Strasbourg Opera.
