Cy Linke grew up in the Ruhr region and studied Philosophy, Arts and Media in Hildesheim and Directing in Hamburg and Zurich. Linke was invited to the Körber Studio Junge Regie and the OUTNOW! festival in Bremen with their final production “Fallen (durchgestrichen)”. Most recently, Linke worked on eating disorders*, on non-binary genders and bullfights in “Stierhunger” and on transitions and queer and trans* hostilities in “Sohn werden*”. In addition to queerness and illness*, other works dealt with sexism in medicine, the fear of falling and failing, (dis)obedience, desire, resistance and care. Linke’s works are research-based and negotiate social microcosms as focal points for power dynamics and possibilities for change. Linke has been invited to the Treffen junger Autor*innen, Hauptsache frei (Hamburg), 6 TAGE FREI (Stuttgart) etc, and recently received a work stipend for German-language literature from Berlin’s Senate Department to work on their first novel.
Together with psychologist Hannah Lesser, Cy Linke researches on power and pleasure, invents encounter formats and works as a bodyworker alongside their artistic work.
