Lars Werner (born 1988 in Dresden) studied media art at the Academy of Visual Arts Leipzig and Camberwell College of Arts at the University of the Arts London as well as scenic writing at the Berlin University of the Arts. In 2017, Werner initiated the Berlin Ringtheater and was part of the collective management until 2023. Werner received the Kleist Promotion Prize for New Drama in 2018 for the play “Weißer Raum” and the Alfred Döblin Scholarship from the Akademie der Künste Berlin in 2019. Werner’s debut novel “Zwischen den Dörfern auf hundert” was published by Albino Berlin in 2023. For the radio play “Das normale Haus”, Werner won the max15 prize for the best short radio play in the independent scene in 2024. Werner’s play “Die ersten hundert Tage” was nominated for the Heidelberg Stückemarkt in 2024 and premiered at the Deutsches Theater Göttingen on 7 March 2025.
