Jasmina Musić was born in 1988 in Banja Luka and came to Dortmund with her family as a five-year-old. She studied acting in Hamburg and Tuzla, as well as psychology in Cologne. In addition to appearances at the Theaterakademie Hamburg, Deutsches SchauSpielHaus Hamburg and Deutsches Theater Berlin, she took part in the productions “The Abyss – I am an Alchemical Product” and (as Antigone) “We – Antigone #2” by Branko Šimić at Kampnagel. From 2014–2017, she was a permanent member of the ensemble at Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus. She has been working as a guest performer at Maxim Gorki Theater in the production “Common Ground” by Yael Ronen & Ensemble (with invitations to the Theatertreffen and the Theatertreffen in China, the Taipei Arts Festival and the MESS Festival Sarajevo) and could be seen at Schauspiel Dortmund in “Der goldene Schnitt”. She also co-authored this production, which was created as a devised project. Since 2016/17, she has held a teaching assignment at Fachhochschule Potsdam on the topic of interdisciplinary memory in theatre – experiences of violence and ways out of speechlessness. In 2016, she took part in the Film Stage Studio at the 22nd Sarajevo Film Festival. In the season 2017/18, she was a dramaturg and performer and developed the text for the play “Samo da ne pucaju (The main thing is that you do not shoot)” at STUDIO Я at Maxim Gorki Theater, which celebrated its world premiere at the 2018 MESS Festivalin Sarajevo. She also performed the title role in “Nora, or her other name” at the boat people projekt in Göttingen. From 2019, she will be seen in the production “Grundgesetz – ein chorischer Stresstest” by Martha Gornicka as well as in the solo performance “HAAREׅ” with texts by Nora Amin at the boat people projekt. She is a co-founder of the diverse female collective Her.Story, which will conduct research on the topic of violence against women and on the genocide in Bosnia and Germany in the 2021 theatre season. Jasmina Music lives in Cologne, Zagreb and Sarajevo and also works as a freelance speaker for radio and television.
