Faune(s) tracks one of the early avantgarde ballets of the 20th century: Nijinsky’s L’aprèsmidi d’un faune from 1912. In Faune(s) the French dancer and choreographer Olivier Dubois presents four unique but interrelated versions of the famous work. Beginning with a reconstruction of the original by the choreographer and dance historian Dominique Brun, Olivier Dubois himself lays hands on the material and the stage director Sophie Perez and the film director Christophe Honoré each present versions with Dubois in the leading role. Faune(s) is an artistic reflection on dance-historic heritage and the interpreter’s physical transformations.
