The productions may – but are not obliged to – deal with the themes of exile and diaspora and the productions may – but are not obliged to – be premieres.
Apply now! 100˚ Diaspora is looking for 45 performing arts productions to be performed in a three-day stage marathon on five stages at the Haus der Berliner Festspiele. 100˚ Diaspora is not curated but will be based on a first come, first served principle – the first 45 applications in response to this open call will make up the programme, provided the proposals can be realised.
For each production, performance fees of 360 Euro per person will be provided, with groups consisting of a maximum of 8 persons. Additional production costs cannot be provided. The working languages for the festival are German and English. Artists and groups may only apply with one production.
A supplementary programme of opportunities for networking and advice, parties, post-show discussions and panels completes the programme for 100° Diaspora in co-operation with the Goethe-Institut in Exile.
Once applications have been received, assessments will be carried out to ensure that the productions can be realised technically in the festival venues. Applicants can expect to hear whether they have been invited to participate by the middle of March.

As an international festival that is actively engaged with the issue of exile within a network of political negotiations, Performing Exiles considers it has a responsibility to join its artists and audience in actively opposing anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, racism and discrimination and supporting respectful mutual dialogue – a dialogue that is in a position to tolerate contradictory positions, experiences and perspectives. Artists who present their works at the Performing Exiles festival and as part of 100° Diaspora, will participate actively in this process of argument.
Performing Exiles endeavours to achieve an experimental, transnational and transdisciplinary programme that includes and reflects on different points of view. The dignity of human beings and protecting them from animosity of any kind form the bedrock for this endeavour.
