The 3sat-series “Wahnsinnswerke” explores classic works of theatre literature and compares defining productions in dialogue with artists and scholars.

The films are each around 45 minutes long; the artists’ talk will take place following the second film and last around 30 minutes.

Fidelity and revenge, patriarchy and the future of feminism, longing and letting go are among the topics discussed by Stefanie Reinsperger, Idil Baydar, Johanna Wokalek, Susanne Kennedy, Anna Bergmann, Lisa Lucassen and others, with reference to the timeless ‘Wahnsinnswerke’ “Medea”, “Nora” and “Drei Schwestern (Three Sisters)”.
